簡介 Introduction

蕭美玲 

-現職國立台北教育大學藝術與造形設計學系助理教授

1989年畢業於國立藝術學院(北藝大)。1994年入法國南錫高等藝術學院(École nationale supérieure d'art de Nancy),1997獲德法獎學金赴德國卡爾斯魯爾(Karlsruhe)藝術學院進修,1998年畢業於法國南錫高等藝術學院,2000年畢業於法國Le Fresnoy國立現代影像工作室(Le Fresnoy National Studio of the Contemporary Arts),師從知名美國旅法藝術家Robert KRAMER學習影像及紀錄片創作。

蕭美玲的創作跨界錄影藝術與紀錄片之間,其錄像作品展於法國Bourge勃日Bandit Mages國際錄影多媒體藝術節、德國Saarbrücken電影及錄影藝術節、德國卡爾斯魯爾(Karlsruhe)藝術學院展,女性影展、台灣美術雙年展……等。其紀錄片作品曾參展日本Yamagata山形國際紀錄片影展,法國龐畢度Cinema de Réel真實的電影國際紀錄片影展,法國Lussas路薩斯國際紀錄片影展,德國Leipzig萊比錫國際紀錄片及動畫影展......等。

其作品〈雲的那端〉獲2007年日本山形國際紀錄片影展亞洲千波萬波特別獎、2008年台灣國際紀錄片雙年展台灣獎評審團特別推薦獎。

 

 

Mei-Ling Hsiao

Assistant Professor in the Department of Arts and Design, National Taipei University of Education.

Graduated from National Institute of the Arts in 1989, Mei-Ling Hsiao was enrolled in École nationale supérieure d’art de Nancy, France in 1994, and undertook advanced studies at Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Karlsruhe, Germany in 1997 on a German-France scholarship. She graduated from École nationale supérieure de Nancy in 1997 and completed her advanced studies at Le Fresnoy - Studio national des arts contemporains where she sat at the feet of renowned American artist Robert KRAMER and received rigorous training in video and documentary production.

Hsiao’s artworks encompass video art and documentary. Her video artworks were presented in several domestic and international prestigious events such as Festival de Bourges: Bandit Mages, France; Festival SarLouLux du Film et de la video, Saarbrücken, Germany; Exhibition of Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste, Karlsruhe, Germany; women’s film festivals, and biennials in Taiwan. Her documentaries were also screened in several film festivals such as Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival, Japan; Cinéma du Réel, France; États généraux du film documentaire de Lussas, France; and International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film, Germany.

Hsiao’s work “Somewhere Over the Clouds” has earned her the Special Mention for New Asian Currents Awards at Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival in 2007 and the Jury Special Mention Award at Taiwan International Documentary Festival in 2008.
